I teach all aspects of photography, for complete beginners and for advanced photographers who want to hone their craft in a specialised genre. I lead small groups in landscape, cityscape, street, outdoor portraiture and themed photography workshops, often in Edinburgh but also elsewhere in Scotland.
My One-to-One tuition is a completely bespoke service, and will take account of your experience, your camera kit, and what kind of photos you want to take. My experience of photographing landscapes and street scenes in Edinburgh and the Lothians is unsurpassed. Coupled with a thorough knowledge of the weather, and the conditions that suit each location, I'll make sure we build your own skill and knowledge. You'll go home with some great shots in the bag and some great ideas for the future.
You can buy a gift voucher for a One-to-One or for a set ££ value which the recipient can put against tuition fees or to purchase a print.

Heritage
Castles, volcanoes, museums and our built urban environment - few places in the world rival Edinburgh and Scotland for the depth and variety of its heritage. It's a personal passion and I love to create unique images for the Heritage Sector.
As well as documenting the daily life and non-stop events that our vibrant city plays host to, I'm also available on commission to document and capture your project, exhibition or event.
My clients include Edinburgh World Heritage, Marketing Edinburgh, Edinburgh Tourism Action Group & Edinburgh Museums and Galleries.
My heritage photography commissions include Edinburgh's Georgian Shadows, Edinburgh's 101 Objects, the Edinburgh Alphabet exhibition in the City Art Centre, Jacob’s Ladder stairway refurbishment, Canongate tenement refurbishments and the Charles Piazzi Smyth Symposium.
I'll be delighted to have a no-obligation discussion about your project or exhibition.
Tourism
Images are at the heart of our tourism industry, and my portfolio of images from across the country is available for marketing, PR, and social media use. Whether you're a National Park, a Cruise Line or a simple B&B, my clients in the Tourism sector appreciate that I'm available for commission to capture a bespoke portfolio, and best show off what they have to offer the world.

My clients are extremely varied for editorial and PR photography and my images are regularly published by the national press including STV News, The Times, The Telegraph, The Daily Mail, The Scotsman, The Herald, The Daily Record, The Sun, Sunday Times Travel Magazine, Edinburgh Evening News, The Scots Magazine amongst others.
I've worked with and supplied images for large PR agencies, theatres, art galleries, national events, multinational brands, police forces, kitchen showrooms and small cafes. I relish the challenge of a new brief from a demanding client. Give me a call and explain your vision.
Events are fluid, constantly changing, and often full of surprises. If you want to capture the best moments you should be immersed in the occasion but vigilant to the dynamics.
A good event photographer will hone in on the expressions, moods and spontaneity which, if captured well, will often define the whole event or performance much better than formal, posed photos.
I'll provide a discrete fly-on-the-wall record of your conference, ball or PR event and bring a strong creative sense to best highlight your guests and your organisation.

You want your food to look as delicious as it tastes, and your restaurant to ooze ambience online. I’ll bring a creative sense of interpretation to capture what you do best, whether you’re a cheerful cafe, or a much admired Michelin chef.
I work across several genres with commercial clients in the Events & Hospitality industry, Heritage & Tourism, Theatre & Arts and the fast-paced world of PR and Marketing. My images are regularly published in the national and local press, and I've built a large archive of images available for licensing which reflect the beauty and changing faces of Edinburgh and central Scotland.
If you're an SME building a website, or a large organisation demonstrating the depth and complexity of your business, I'll bring the same attention to detail and love of crafting a unique collection of compelling images. Add a few of my archived shots of iconic views of the city to spice up your portfolio.
I also create digital content, write copy & manage social media, with my own Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts, and can provide management and content creation for my clients' online presence. Provided together with a commissioned photography portfolio and compelling copy, this approach will make the best use of your images, build your brand awareness, and increase customer engagement.
